2. Climb Bla Bhein (Blaven), the jagged ‘blue’ mountain overlooking Torrin
3. Five mile Walk to Camasunary Bay from Kilmarie (on the way to Elgol)

4. Visit Torrin Beach. Turn left as you come out of Hawthorn Dene and head a few hundred metres up the road to the cattle grid at NG580206. Turn right off the road (South) and walk down the track. When you reach the end of the road you will pick up a rough path through the trees and bushes that will take you right to the sand. Best at low tide, check tides here.
5. . Visit artist Meg Miller’s Studio and Gallery at A’Chuibheall in Torrin. https://www.megmiller.co.uk/home Meg’s is the timber house on the left hand side just before the cattle grid if you are walking up the road towards the turning for Torrin Beach (see 4. above). 6. Visit Amy’s Place Tea Room & Gifts, a few hundred metres further down the road to Elgol. 01471 822847.
7. Walk the Marble Line between Broadford and Cill Chriosd (Kilchrist) ruined church, Swordale and up to the old marble quarry.
8. Long Walk to the Cleared Coast villages of Boreraig and Suisnish
9. Swim in Torrin Pools. Leaving Torrin towards Elgol pass Amy’s Place and Torrin Bunkhouse on your left. On the right you will come to the river. (Park on the side of the road) and follow the river up to find the pools.
10. Shorter Walk to Dun Ringill iron age fort on the coast at Kilmarie (on the way to Elgol)
11. Visit Mrs Mack’s Wee Takeaway a mobile takeaway service by the Old Quarry on the shores of Loch Slapin. Check Facebook and Instagram for latest opening hours.
12. Walk on the sandy beach at Ashaig. Great for dogs, but also for humans. Views over to Pabay, Scalpay, Loch Carron and down to the Skye Bridge. Take the A87 out of Broadford back towards the Skye Bridge, through Harrapool and Upper Breakish. Immediately before the second narrow bridge (with an Ashaig sign on it) turn left marked Lower Breakish 1 (mile). After a few hundred yards, where the road bends to the left (towards Lower Breakish) turn right towards the beach (feels more like straight on). Park up before the road runs out. Short walk to the expansive beach. If the burn is in full spate, there is a bridge.
13. Short but slightly scary walk to The Spar Cave, in Glasnakille near Elgol. You can only access at low tide and you need head torches. Worth the effort though: https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/skye/sparcave.shtml
14. Climb Beinn na Cro in Torrin. Start at the bridge at the head of Loch Slapin. Allow 2-3 hours. It’s an unassuming pinnacle, but on a clear day you get amazing views over Southern Skye and the Cuillin as well as to Rum in the west and the mainland to the east.
